2004 Hammond Invitational Cancelled

NEWS

5.20.03 - INVITATIONAL CANCELLED
The Hammond Invitational has been cancelled for next season due to the restrictions imposed by Howard County. Here is a letter to all coaches from Hammond Head Coach Pedro Barbosa.

Coaches,
I am sorry to inform you that the Hammond Tournament will not run next year. Our county athletic director has restricted the number of non-MPSSAA teams. Several teams have decided not to participate because they do not want to support the decisions that have been passed down to us. Taking all of this into consideration, we have decided it will be impossible to maintain the elite level we have become accustomed to. If anyone has any questions or concerns please feel free to call or email me at (410)313-7615 or coachbarbosa@yahoo.com

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."
- Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States
